Promotion Policy - RGH School

Nursery to Class I

For students in Nursery to Class I, the promotion process at RGH School emphasizes a nurturing and supportive environment where each child's social, emotional, and cognitive development is observed.

Teachers assess students through daily activities, classroom participation, and interaction, rather than formal exams. The goal is to ensure that each child is developmentally ready to move on to the next level.

Promotion is generally automatic unless there are exceptional circumstances, which will be addressed in consultation with the parents.

Classes I to VIII

Promotion for students from Class I to VIII at RGH School will be governed by the guidelines set forth by the State Education Board. A student’s consistent academic performance, participation in school-based assessments, and minimum required attendance will be taken into consideration.

Students must engage actively in class activities, complete assignments regularly, and participate in co-curricular programs to support holistic development.

Students who are unable to cope with the syllabus or show unsatisfactory performance due to low attendance may be retained in the same class, based on mutual consent from the parents and the school administration.

It is compulsory for every student to appear in all school-prescribed assessments for their respective class. Support measures such as remedial classes or counseling may be provided where necessary.

Class IX

To be eligible for promotion to Class X, students of Class IX must appear in all formal assessments and secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject as well as in the overall aggregate.

Additionally, they must meet the school’s minimum attendance requirement as per State Board norms. Parental involvement and regular feedback sessions are encouraged to support academic growth.

Class X

Promotion in Class X will strictly follow the State Board’s promotion policy. All students are expected to appear for Board-prescribed assessments and meet the promotion criteria set by the State Board.

Continuous preparation, regular attendance, and adherence to examination protocols are essential for successful completion of Class X.
